The increased use of LED based lighting in outdoor applications introduces unique challenges to fixture reliability. While fixture components are designed to handle variations in input power, being connected directly to the main power lines introduces complications when it comes to power surges. Because lightning strikes, switching and other events can be far more severe directly on the power lines, these components need additional protection. An LED surge suppressor protects your most sensitive components against line surges and transients. The Hatch Lighting LSP10-SM Surge Protector provides surge protection up to 10kA and are designed to operate through single phase, universal 120-277V applications.
This item is the Hatch Lighting LSP10-SM. For use with 120-277 volt, single phase, line voltage, the LSP10-SM offers a maximum clamping voltage of 320V AC, 430 Joules maximum energy and has 6 inch, 16AWG stranded, 105 degree Celsius lead wires.
The LSP10-SM is designed to be used in conjunction with LED Drivers and fixtures to provide an additional level of protection against powerline disturbances in industrial, commercial and residential applications where surge protection to IEEE C62.41.2 is required. The LSP10-SM can also be used with electronic fluorescent and HID ballasts. This product provides single phase protection for line/neutral, line/ground and neutral/ground. One step secure mounting to a 3/4" standard electrical knockout, using the integral SNAPLOCK mounting, eliminates the need for lock nuts. No tools are required. The high temperature, flame retardant plastic enclosure has an 85 degree Celsius maximum surface temperature rating.
