Dual rated for both aluminum and copper conductors the Morris Products family of Pre-Insulated Power Distribution Connectors (some contractors also call them out as Polaris connectors, Nimbus connectors, AMT connectors or Power Bar or Multi-Tap connectors) makes insulated wire splicing easy and secure. ANSI C119.4 and cULus 486b Listed and designed for use in areas such as troughs, gutters, panels, ducts and wireways these factory pre-insulated mechanical connectors eliminates the need for time consuming taping. Each port is also pre-filled with oxide inhibitor and each port and screw plug is clearly marked with each connector's maximum wire size for easy identification.
This item is the Morris 97644. It is insulated with a rugged high-dielectric black rubber/vinyl coating. This is a 4-port (or 4-conductor), Dual Entry splice for use with a wire range from 250MCM thru #6. The wires enter on either side of the insulated connector where only one conductor is allowed per set screw and only one supply conductor per connector is permitted. Each entry point is supplied with clearly labeled removable access plugs over both the cable entry port and the hex screws.
Each insulated cable connector is 6061-T6 Aluminum CU9AL Dual Rated for use with Copper and/or Aluminum wires. The operating temperature range is 49°F to 194°F (45° to 90°C).
